Coffee Time

In the mornings, drinking a cup of coffee is one my favorite times of the day. It’s my one vice. I’m also not a morning person and need some time to wake up. So, it’s quite an important time. Everyone has their preferred way to drink coffee, and there is no right or wrong way. I’ve tried many different ways, from appliances to ingredients to brands. And after so many versions, the following is my favorite that I’ll stick to for awhile.

I use about half whole milk, about one fourth unsweetened macadamia milk, and about one fourth water. I heat up the liquids and pour some tea spoons of instant coffee. Instant coffee works best for me at this time for it’s obvious convenience. But I make sure to use the freeze dried variety, as if seems to be of better quality. I sprinkle some cocoa powder and a few tea spoons of unflavored collagen powder. To me, it’s like a mini meal since it’s got some nutritional value as opposed to plain coffee and water. Also, if you make it light enough, it won’t be too acidic or too caffeinated, which are the main concerns with coffee drinks. And it’s delicious.
